The annual Citrix iForum 2004 Africa event, which is scheduled for 21 July 2004 at Vodaworld in Midrand, will focus on how companies can use information access to boost productivity, gain tighter control over IT resources and implement a flexible mobile strategy.
Chris Norton, country manager for Citrix in South Africa, says the industry event will help companies become on-demand enterprises through the use of suitable access strategies.
"Information access unlocks a number of benefits for business such as secure and instant access to enterprise information, which boosts productivity. A suitable information access strategy will also give enterprises greater control over their IT resources while lowering total cost of ownership, and makes implementing a flexible mobile strategy to deliver increased business performance a reality," says Norton.
The one-day conference will offer three tracks: Technology and solutions, Business performance, and Technical workshops. The technology and solutions track is designed for the IT manager and solutions architect, and provides an overview of the Citrix technologies that deliver business solutions, including all of the latest updates to the platforms in the Citrix MetaFrame Access Suite. The content of the track is technical in nature but does not require in-depth technical knowledge or understanding.
The Business Performance Track is designed for the business and IT director, and is focused on the business impact of defining an access strategy. Sessions will explore the total cost of ownership, return on investment and business performance benefits supported by case studies from organisations that have implemented an access strategy.
The Technical Workshops track is designed for technical specialists with in-depth technical discussions on how to plan, implement, integrate and manage the latest technology from Citrix. Sessions in this track require the delegate to have and introductory to intermediate understanding of technology.
