Minolta's new workhorse

1 October 2004

Minolta has announced the launch of its DiALTA Di7210, a high-speed, high volume digital copier/printer.
Minolta Copier Division product manager, Paul Symonds, says the Di7210 is perfect for demanding corporate workgroups, CRDs and print-for-pay environments. "The machine's 72 pages per minute (ppm) print and copy speed, combined with an optional internal Fiery print controller means this machine can meet an enormous range of networking and document management demands."
The Di7210 is compatible with a wide range of operating systems and platforms for high networking flexibility and by adding the optional Printer Controller and PS and Scan Upgrade kit, the Di7210 can scan documents at 70 ppm and convert them into electronic data to be shared by all PCs on the office network. It boasts scan-to-FTP, HDD, e-mail, TWAIN-compliant network scanning.
The addition of the printer controller also means that the Di7210 can print documents at 72 ppm at full 600 dpi resolution. A tandem mode allows the user to combine two Di7210s and double output to 144 cpm.
Minolta's PageScope (optional) software range supports document handling and network device management with the Di7210. The PageScope Work Palette makes it easy to group or rearrange documents in simple page units, even when the documents have been created using different applications. PageScope Net Care, the administrator, can check operating conditions of all MFPs and printers on a network. PageScope Light allows users to instantly check and set up details of all Minolta MFPs and printers on a network.
The Di7210 has a 7600-sheet maximum capacity and finishing options include half/fold/saddle stitch, booklet making, tri-fold 100-sheet and multiple-position stapling, hole punching, sorting, grouping and cover insertion. The machine accepts heavy paper stock, up to 200 g index, transparencies and tab pages.
This heavy duty machine can be loaded with up to 100 originals in its automatic document feeder for copying and it can print up to 9999 pages, ideal for busy offices with large-volume users.
The booklet creation function allows for 80 page (20 sheets, double sided) finished booklets with proper pagination. The Di7210 automatically handles the page layout and inserts covers according to the type of booklet that is being produced.
