Mosaic Software takes NBS live with WAP mobile banking

1 August 2000

Mosaic Software, software developer and member of the e-Commerce Division of Comparex Holdings, has released a world-leading and South African first - a Wireless Access Protocol (WAP) Internet banking product that enables NBS clients to perform a comprehensive range of banking activities using a GSM cellular phone.
"Using Mosaic's WAP Internet banking initiative, financial institutions can offer payment facilities and banking information for clients - anytime, anywhere - even in remote areas," stated David Hall, Product Strategy Manager: Mobile Commerce at Mosaic Software.
Mosaic Software joined forces with SACA (South African Certification Agency) to develop the WAP Internet banking solution for NBS. SACA provides the digital certificates to guarantee security of mobile WAP transactions. SACA is also a member of the Comparex e-Commerce Division and represents Verisign (a global leader in digital certification) in South Africa.
