UK launch pad for UCS

7 June 2007

UCS Software, a member of the UCS Group, recently signed their first UK software deal for furniture retailer, The Pier. The software in question is ActiveRetail 4 My Enterprise, developed by UCS Software.
UCS’s UK partner and distributor, Arnel, was awarded this R1 million contract for the electronic point of sale (EPOS) upgrade to all 42 of The Piers’ furniture and soft furnishing stores in the UK.
According to UCS Group’s CEO, John Bright, this was a great achievement, as they were up against stiff competition including leading UK retail solution providers.
Alex Meak, head of IT at The Pier, comments, “UCS has more than exceeded our expectations and our visit to Johannesburg reinforced our confidence that ActiveRetail has the ideal roadmap and technology to drive us into the future. The implementation planning starts in mid-March, with the pilot going live in May.”
ActiveRetail 4 My Enterprise, encompassing head office, branch management and store-based points of service, provides retailers with a complete, flexible and scalable retail management solution, which is able to meet the shifting, dynamic demands of today’s retail industry.
“The Pier contract is in line with our group’s strategic intent of driving the distribution of our products internationally in collaboration with our channel of Value Added Reseller partners. Arnel is one of our leading UK partners that is well trained and qualified to implement the successful roll-out of our products abroad”, says Bright.
