Logical focuses on security solutions market, hands over distribution products to Westcon

1 January 2000

In line with Logical's core focus on providing solutions, integration and services to its clients, the company has committed to hand over the current security distribution business of DataSecure to Westcon, Datatec's global networking distribution company. DataSecure is a wholly owned subsidiary of Datatec, which has recently been integrated into Logical.
"Datatec has clearly demonstrated a commitment to establish Logical and Westcon as leading worldwide brands, in line with market trends. Logical is positioned as an integrator and service provider, and Westcon as a value-add distributor," explains Gordon Edwards, CEO of Logical South Africa.
"Westcon has access to a channel of VARs and Integrators, and is well positioned to grow the channel business beyond what has been previously realised by DataSecure," he said.
"DataSecure's security solutions, integration and service business activity remains a core and expanding focus within Logical. It is and will continue to be aggressively positioned to expand and meet market demand for network, infrastructure and information security."
Edwards added that Logical is working to ensure that the realignment of business progresses smoothly, and the interests of staff, vendors, and valued customers are the highest priority.
DataSecure's founding member, Philip Green, will continue to provide his expertise and wealth of industry experience to Logical.
