TomTom GO 720 in South Africa

27 March 2008

The TomTom GO 720 is now available in South Africa. New technology allowing for daily map improvements and a host of new features, such as extensive safety menu; have been combined into one compact and stylish design, providing drivers with the ultimate driving experience.
Map share technology
The TomTom GO 720 comes with new map improvement technology, TomTom Map Share. This technology enables drivers to easily and instantly make improvements to their own maps, such as block or unblock streets, reverse one-way traffic or change street names.
It also lets users share corrections and benefit from all other users' improvements, daily, automatically and easily via TomTom HOME - TomTom's free software application. TomTom has the world's largest satellite navigation community with over 15 million users. TomTom Map Share users can contribute and exchange all their improvements amongst each other, making the best maps available for all of them.
When it comes to sharing improvements, users can choose between downloading all reported map improvements or only accepting map improvements verified by a team of experts to guarantee timeliness and validity.
Enhanced hands-free kit
The enhanced hands-free kit features a new high quality sound system offering users the best hands-free calling experience via Bluetooth.
With optimised acoustic design, enhanced noise reduction, echo cancellation and an automatic answer function, the TomTom GO 720 ensures drivers can make and take calls easier than ever whilst keeping their eyes focused on the road.
Extensive safety features
Safety is a key priority in the development of all TomTom products. The TomTom GO 720 comes with safety features so drivers always have direct access to extensive safety and roadside assistance information wherever they go. The extensive 'Help Me!' menu includes information such as the way to the nearest hospital, car maintenance information and first aid instructions. Another safety feature is the new short-cut menu, so drivers can jump straight to their favourite, most accessed information with just one touch on the screen for even easier and safer navigation.
TomTom GO 720 comes pre-installed with the most up-to-date door-to-door map of Southern Africa covering South Africa, Namibia, Mozambique, Swaziland, Lesotho, Botswana and Zimbabwe, with maximum detail stored on the internal memory.
