MB Technologies today announced that, after 15 years with the group, Guy Whitcroft has resigned to take up the post of chief operating officer with the Middle East's leading distribution group, APTEC Holdings.
Making the announcement, MB Technologies CEO, Leo Baxter, said, "Guy joined Tarsus Technologies in June 1992 to set up the Compaq distribution business, expanding his responsibilities in the company over the next few years and becoming managing director in March 1997. In the 15 years of working together we have seen this group grow from a small business to the region's largest and most successful distribution group and much credit must go to Guy for the role he has played in our development."
Commenting on his new role at APTEC, Whitcroft said, "I have known APTEC and its chairman, Dr Ali Baghdadi, for over five years and am delighted to be joining the group at this very exciting time in its development. There is no question that APTEC is positioned to be able to take full advantage of the rapid growth in the IT market throughout the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey (MENAT) region and I am looking forward to working with the strong team at APTEC to maximise the opportunities available to us."
"I have enjoyed the many changes in the local IT environment and the challenging times that I have experienced. It goes without saying that I am anticipating sinking my teeth into a new challenge and look forward to working with the team at APTEC to take it to a new level," said Whitcroft.
An announcement relating to the appointment of a CEO for Ingram Micro South Africa will be released shortly.
