Microsoft's Office Assistant exposes security vulnerabilities

Microsoft's Office Assistant - that annoying paper-clip helper in Office - has some nasty security vulnerabilities in Office 2000. It seems that an attacker can write scripts for the assistant that can do all sorts of damaging things, and that these scripts can run automatically when the user clicks on a web page or opens an HTML-enabled e-mail. This is an amazing breach of security for Microsoft. Because they chose to mark all Office Assistant scripts as 'safe', these scripts can do anything they want. This is exactly the sort of vulnerability that virus writers exploit.
